Hi We've just had our bathrooms gutted and remodeled. We've installed textured porcellain tiles in the shower walls and floors. Grout has not yet been sealed. Question: is a sealant needed for Laticrete Sanded Grout 1500 when used with Grout Enhancer 1776? The grout lines turn dark when wet so I think that a sealer may be needed... :bang:

I see no recommendation against it,http://www.laticrete.com/Portals/0/datasheets/lds2650.pdf

If the grout absorbs water and changes color, it will absorb sealer as well. The question is do you want to maintain the sealer on the floor? Chances are that it will need to be resealed very often to continue to protect. Be sure that the sealer you use on the floor allows vapor transmission (most water based sealers do). This will allow your shower pan to do its job at allowing moisture out while still protecting your grout.
