Hello,
We have remodeled our master bathroom, and while we did research into the care and problems with our selection of the crema marfil marble, we were slightly disappointed when the marble was delivered.

When the marble was installed, it got a couple of minor surface scratches. I requested of the seller to polish the crema marfil, which they did. Our disappointment came when we saw white spots on the surface. I asked what these spots were and I was told they were the sealer/filler for the marble’s surface imperfections.

My question is; Is there anything I could do to minimize the appearance of the white spots? Or will the spots fade as the marble get stained with water marks?

When we purchased the marble, we did not notice the white spots.
Thanks

Man, I haven't heard the name Crema Marfil for a while.

We used to carry it at the HD but discontinued it due to problems along similar lines.

Marble, as far a stone goes, is very soft. Scratches are fairly unavoidable.

Do you happen to have any pics of these marble pieces??

Why were you disappointed when the marble was delivered?

You said it got scratches after installation.........................................

Was there a problem before installation?????

Hi Will, Welcome! :)

We just honed a Crema Marfil floor for a client. They were also concerned about the white minerals along some veins, and various white spots throughout the floor. It is a characteristic of the stone, don't worry about them.

Make sure you use a quality tile and stone specific neutral pH cleaner to maintain the floor. You may want to seal the grout joints, but the polished CM won't absorb much sealer itself. If you go that route, don't let the impregnator dry on the surface of the stone.

John Koessler,
Thank you for the reply. My comments and questions have been based on what the marble installer/seller told me. Maybe he was wrong in saying the white spots were sealer spots.
We are hoping that with time the spots will fade. We have the Crema Marfil as a vanity top.
Once again thank you.
