Anyone else watching this year's Tour? It promised to be really exciting before it even got started (and thus far is living up to the promise) with Astana being invited back - Lance, Alberto, Levi, Andreas all potential contenders. The team's just loaded with talent! Lot of really good teams trying to knock them off and dispell the notion that they are the number one team and also have the top GC men.
The course is one of the best in years with the return of the team TT, and the climb up Mt. Ventoux being virtually the last stage. High drama already with Team Columbia getting away from the peloton yesterday and putting the hammer down hard, giving sprinter Mark Cavendish a second stage win already. No wonder they call him the Manx Missile - no one can catch him if he gets a decent lead-out.
Mountain stages begin Friday where serious time can be gotten. This years Tour is a must watch, and it's televised every day on Versus (expanded Prime Time coverage starting at 9:00 PM PST).
