I have a new walnut travertine floor in my basement bathroom that could use a quick cleaning. Its been sealed twice with Aquamix Gold. I know no acidic cleaners should be used but wondered about Simple Green. Its a 9.5 so a little more alkaline than neutral. I did a quick search but didn't find a whole lot. I know they make a stone cleaner but it says it can leave a waxy residue and I don't want that. Otherwise I guess I'll have to pick up some Aquamix cleaner next time I'm at the tile store.

I was thinking along the lines of a 30:1 ratio. Okay? Yea or Nea?

Justin, you're better off with a ph neutral cleaner. The online store carries a couple or, if you are near a Costco, they carry one in a gallon size (that you just mix with water). That's the one I used on my stone. :)

Justin if it's not too dirty, just mix about 4 oz of windex with a gallon of water. Now you have a good neutral cleaner that actually cleans. :clap2: Alkaline cleaners can strip the sealer from the travertine. I know it is only 9.5 but it is still alkaline so why take a chance.

We suggest this to our customers after we have cleaned and colorsealed the grout. Best cleaning method is vacuum the floor then use a dust mop. No water unless absolutely necessary. Your floor will stay much cleaner much longer - especially the grout.

they make a simple green for stone, stay away from the original simple green.

for a low price you can get some ZEP neutral cleaner from home depot.

I went and got some Simple Green Stone Cleaner while I was picking up another bottle of the regular stuff. I was thinking of the polish in the first post. It worked fine from what I can tell. Thanks for the help everybody.
