McNamara sort of dropped out of sight after he left politics. I understand he went to work trying to help the disadvantaged......something with the World Bank..???
Also supposedly wrote a "memoirs" type of book before his death. Has anyone heard of it or read it?? Might be interesting.........

He did a Vietnam special on one of the cable channels a few years back didn't he? Actually, I believe it was recorded several years ago and replayed...?
Anyway, thanks to any of you Vets out there!

Before Vietnam he had a very large role in the Cuban Missile Crisis. A life remembered for Vietnam but framed by numerous other achievements and interests and a considerable intellect. He also ran a small institution you may have heard of. Ford Motor Company, amongst other things. One the Great Generation. If we are lucky we may see his like again. A Politician with something more to offer than a winning smile and a glib sound byte. You may not admire him but you must certainly respect him.
