A strong young man at a construction site was bragging that he could out-do anyone in a feat of strength. He made a special case of making fun of one of the older workmen.

After several minutes, the older worker had enough.

'Why don't you put your money where your mouth is,' he said. 'I'll bet a week's wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that building that you won't be able to wheel back.'

'You're on, old man,' the braggart replied. 'Let's see you do it.'

The old man reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles.

Then, nodding to the young man, he said, 'All right, Dumb A_s, get in.'

Never mess with an old man !!!!

Yep, a good one. I'll have to remember it for when I get old enough to use it. :D

...but not too old to push a wheelbarrow with a 20-something in it.

i'm fond of the novels by James Swain featuring card cheats, casino scams, and gambler's tricks. swain himself is a world famous card handler and expert on casino cheating. anyway, in one of the novels, i remember an old duffer who's always betting strange wagers and winning. in one, he bets folk at a track that he can win a short race against a quarter horse. after collecting the moneys, he sets up a pole at 1/2 the distance and the race is to there and back to the starting point. seems a quarter horse can't turn around fast enough and by the time the jockey negotiates the turn, the old duffer has won. :gerg: in another one he challenges a world champion pingpong player but with his choice of paddles . . . turns out to be iron skillets (which he has practiced with)
