I was thinking about getting a new line with Sprint and getting it.
I've been having some very small issues with my 755.
I went and looked at it and it's quite different altogether.
I might wait until the possible bugs are fixed in 6-8 months

Man, I was gonna get one. Went to the store picked out my plan grabbed a case and a car charger then they told me there was a waiting list. :complain:

So I got a Samsung Instinct instead. Its a nice phone, but its not a pre.

my local store was loaded with them....weird.

Yeah, it was going to be about two weeks to get the phone. If your store has a surplus tell them to send some up here.

I wanted to try one but opted out for the htc snap. bought it from best buy so if in a week i don't think its for me, i may get the pre. so far it seems pretty good but then i've always use a windows mobile device.

yeah HTC is a nice phone. I didnt like the older ones since the keyboard was onscreen and so small.
the Snap is better, pretty much like a Treo in style.
touch screen too.

Well i got hands on with a Nokia N97 and was thoroughly underwhelmed. The accelerometer appeared stuck in neutral and steadfastly refused to return to portrait when the phone returned to vertical, so that is a brick i will not be hurling through anyones window anytime soon.
If i were to consider a WinMob phone it would only be the Toshiba TG01.
Sadly i am a diehard treo/palm fan. My treo 650 antique can still outperform most of the all singing all dancing toys that currently litter the market.
So Palm......................
WHERE THE F*@# IS THE GSM VERSION OF THE PRE AND WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOREVER TO GET IT?

Brian, the announcement was Jan 8. Expected release date unknown. Those of us who have been waiting for a meaningful new palm phone are now rapidly approaching toes up time. Palm are notoriously poor at keeping promises.
Palm forgot that the rest of the world is a bigger market than CONUS. They went for the glory to take on Iphone in their home market.

I took a look at the HTC Touch Diamond 2 last night. A very sweet and very capable alternative, but no physical keyboard. if i still like it after a second look i may well ditch my palm.

From The Business Insider, July 27, 2009:

The Palm Pre still costs $199, but over the weekend, more than a few customers bought new ones for $99.

The confusion in Best Buy stores across the country began when a picture of an in-store banner promoting a week long special of a $99 Pre with a 2-year contract was posted online.

But turns out, it was a mistake. And Best Buy marketing manager John Bernier announced the error on his Twitter page Sunday afternoon.

But somehow the deal got programmed into vendor systems and soon, stores across New York and nationwide began selling the phone at the new lower price during the weekend.

Lucky customers who got their phones cheap get to keep them at the lower price, one sales rep told a WSJ reporter:
