Kickoff at 6:30 pm MST, Broncos vs. Texans
Now JB, I don’t know if you care one way or the other, but my donkeys are in your backyard right now, and they’re gonna leave a hoof print or two on more than a few Texans. ;)

You think you're so smart, but you're really not. You have been taken in by our strategy, that's all. :)
It really wouldn't make sense for us to break out and beat the Denver Broncos in the very first exposition game where the win wouldn't count. This would put them and every other contender on notice and cause them to better prepare for the future. We would thus lose the advantage of surprise. Much smarter to let the fools win and then come back and bite them in the ass during the real season. ;)
We're going to the bowl, I tell ya!

David Beckham (Real Madrid) just sent this postcard home.
"Dear Gary ,
Hope you are well and Phil liked the wicker donkeys I sent?
Lots of people have been offering to help me out with the language, but Victoria says my English is fine as it is.
Everyone has been really friendly and the lads have got a great sense of humour, just like at United. Luis Figo's the funniest every time he sees me he says: "I'm going to break your legs, pretty boy!" Keano would love it here.
It's nice to see Stevie again. He said to me only yesterday "I'm really looking forward to helping you settle in, I've got you a nice spot next to me on the bench". He says he's got all sorts of training games we can play together, like snap, dominoes and ludo but I think I'll be too busy with the football?
Victoria is very happy here already. We was listening to the radio the other morning and the current Spanish Number One came on. It's called "Plinky Plinky Techno Happy Plinky Plinky Bot Bot". Victoria reckons she can come up with something every bit as good.
You might have seen in the papers that they're going to let me share the free-kicks with a bloke called Robert O'Carlos. Will you ask Keano if he remembers him from his Ireland days? Luis says even though this O'Carlos bloke can bend the ball really well, I'll still be the biggest bender at the club. Which was nice of him.
Anyway, hope you and the lads are enjoying the preparations for the season ahead?
See you in the quarter-finals!
David"

Derek?
Jacqui?
Please explain.
It refers to the World's best known footballer (Soccerer?) David Beckham (aka. Becks) and his wife Victoria (aka. Posh spice). Subject of much barbed comment in Europe and apparently adored everywhere except Texas and 49 or so minorly insignificant places across the pond:nya:
Best piece of advertising associated with them?
Becks Beer.
Huge billboards stating:
"You are never too Posh to go down on a Becks".
Guess who sued.
guess who won.
Billboards quickly removed.
No details of financial settlement.

Hey Flatfloor,
Can the Giants be in the bowl at the same time as the Texans? Which league are your losers-I-mean-lovable guys in?
:D
. . . and what position does Spice what's her name play?
:D

Doesn't sound like Spice is limited to the missionary position. :D

Hey now, I understand that the preseason does not go in the books, but a win is a win, and a loss is a loss. Don’t believe me? Ask any of the guys on the field or the sidelines. If the coaching and the 3rd and 4th string is fluid enough to pull a win then they are on cloud 9, if they are not, then they must live in Houston.
Stole us a QB from Arizona (only good player they had), so the Bowl goes through Denver this year (and many previous years).

And all this time i thought Pele' was the best known soccer player in the world.Shows you what i know of foreign Football. My 2003 predictions
Texas is not going to the bowl
Giants are not going to the bowl
Denver is not going to the bowl
St louis is not going to the bowl
Tampa Bay is going to the bowl
Oakland is going to the Bowl and will win
Vikings will be going to Texas(at least to play dallas) :)
Chicago will get a wild card as will the giants.Chicago will beat the giants and will end up playing Tampa Bay in tampa where they will lose.
Pittsburgh will get a wild card along with Seattle but neither team will hold a candle to Oakland.
Warner is washed up,enough about St louis
Philly will be a tough team to beat all season and will choke in the playoffs
San francisco 49 ers also ran
Ten Titans will continue thier downward slide as they have used all thier luck for the next 30 years
And Miami,well, nevermind
The colts will again struggle on defense and Peyton manning will not have enough ofense to make up for it.
The packers will win all thier home games and lose all thier road games.
Detroit will be looking for a Coach
And Kansas City will be looking for Joe Montana :D
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you lose money basing your bets on these predictions. However ,if you win, vinnie will be taking Donations for our efforts :D :D :D

Chokeland winning the superbowl? I don't think any team is more set up for a major fall than the Raiders. With league parity and all, I'd honestly expect them to miss the playoffs alltogether. They're still whining about the Pats beating them two years ago.

Whew, Todd, way to put some meat on those predictions! :yeah:
Where is Linda? Don't tell me I'm going to have to carry the torch for the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS by myownself.
Yep, you heard it here first, Seahawks are going to the bowl. :D
Great offense at the end of the year (Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander, Koren Robinson, Darrell Jackson, etc.). Some big additions to the defense (Randall Godfrey, Norman Hand, Marcus Trufant, Ken Hamlin, coordinator Ray Rhodes). And Holmgren is bound to win again.
I figure if I make the same prediction every year, I'm bound to be right eventually.
Soccer is Bore-Ring, and the rest of the world is just to stuck on tradition to admit it. I mean, really, HOCKEY is more interesting than Soccer!

The Seahawks go to bowls like the former Houston Oilers went to bowls. You'd have to start your own bowl, like the colleges do. :)
