We take off today for Brevard. I have lots of books, booze and boots (hiking that is.) Will try to check in this week and maybe post a few pics. Supposed to be an unusual type of white squirrel in the area.

A better one. This one is albino. Some are, some aren't.

John, ask the important question first. Like what does that squirrel taste like? Never eaten an albino critter...

Nessie - small world even if JB doesn't know where it is:) I am sure you are headed to North Carolina by the info you gave - Brevard, NC is known for the white squirrels. I am from Brevard and I know of at least one other member who is in that area - Peter (phobbs). It is "Gods Country" they say - beautiful place. So this is your first trip there? It is also known as the "Land of the Waterfalls" there are waterfalls everywhere - might want to check out Looking Glass Falls or some of the many others in the area. Lotta good hiking/camping. Visit the right places and you might even get to sample some good ole "Moonshine"

it sure aint Brevard County FL.
them squirrels would be ate by all the predators fast.
we had a bunch of white squirrels in my hometown where grew up.
they all lived in this one area and I would see them as I walked to school.
they died out over time.

Aha! Missed it by not too far last fall on our way over to the Smokys. I'll check it out next time through. :)
