Does UK have the same problem US does with illegal puppy mills where dogs live in substandard conditions, putting it mildly, to simply have litter after litter?

Dave, That is TOO cute buddy! I love labs! :tup1:
Here is our Beagle. She used to be a great rabbit dog until she got spoiled inside the house. Now she is just a lap dog. :)

Great lookin pups :tup1:
My brother has a 8 month old yellow lab who is almost eighty pounds of solid muscle. Not an ounce of fat on him. The vet said he will end up well over 100.
I have to post some pics of his puppy and my sheltie.
And Marge, no one can resist the call of the puppy.

Rob, I had a Beagle growing up in Alaska. Lappy would wait for me to come home at my school bus stop (use bus stop term loosely in Fairbanks in the 70's) when it was 30 or more below. Loyal furballs.
Jason, let her give some love to a Labbie. You might get hooked too...Labbies can learn to love even those that require mucking of things. :D

Hi jason, That dog is on constant food patrol. I've never seen a dog that is so nutty about getting food. The vet told me that's what beagles are like.
It's my first beagle, and first dog for a while. My sister lives next door to us and has a Golden (Andy). Andy thinks he is part my dog too because I fight and wrestle with him, which he never seems to get tired of doing. :D

Marge ...... Beagles :D
This is funny, as you might know beagles run the rabbits so they kind of herd them and turn them. Trudy, who is about 1/5 the size of my sister's Golden, instinctively runs Blazer in a big arc in the back yard when they are playing. She always runs him back to where they started. Blazer doesn't know what is happening to him. :)

Nutty about food? That's a Labbie wannabe. Trust me...trust the other Labbie Mom and Dad's around here. Labbie's are in charge of food. They can tell you exactly what they need want. :yeah:

I've never seen a dog that is so nutty about getting food. The vet told me that's what beagles are like. And How! My beagle would eat until she popped if I let her. She will gladly suffer the consequences of getting up on the kitchen table any chance she gets (we have learned to push the chairs in and never leave food unattended for any length of time).
Dave, that is a fine looking pup. I can't let my wife and kids even see pups like that, or we'd be knee-deep in doggies over here.

Oh wow! I better not let Frances see these puppy pictures. We have to keep reminding ourselves that one dog is all we can handle, especially now that we are beginning to travel more. Our daughter keeps our Sam while we are gone and we keep their Riley while they are gone. They have a small house and if we had two dogs it wouldn't be as easy.
We did see a write-up about a border collie/lab mix that a family had taken in to be put down because they were moving and couldn't/wouldn't take with them. She looked so much like our Sam that it was almost uncanny. We resisted, but were sorely tempted.
I think all hounds are food machines. That's the way our Bailey was. Put his food down and he inhaled it and looked for more. With Sam, we can fill his bowl and it may sit there for a day before he eats.
Keep the pictures coming!

Beagles and Beagles mixes are food freaks. As you all know from our other pet thread, our Tippy has martini issues. (Alright now, no cracks about where she got that habit.) She will eat anything that doesn't eat her first. Lately, she has gained weight eating just to keep the other pups from the food bowl. She's not hungry, she just doesn't want them to have any. She's the 'boss-dog.' We call it 'grudge-eatin'.'

Those are cute puppies for sure. I was off on a drive yesterday to go gold
panning across the valley from where I live. Up to Lytle creek. Was driving
on the 15 freeway in the fast lane and came upon an older golden retriever
wandering the center divider. Instantly I braked from 80 down to 40 which
wasn't enough of course but the best I could do without going out of control.
I missed the poor dog but I watched the car behind me hit it in my rear view
mirror. Oh my god, I cant explain, but knowing all you dog lovers such as
myself I think you know. It was soooooo sad. I didn't have time to stop and
help the old boy/girl. It happened too fast. My first thought was to stop and run
back and grab him up. He was running along looking behind him left and right
anxious and confused. I cried for a good while after. I hope I never experience
that again. Keep your dogs safe if they run, thats all I can say.

Dave, nice pics of the Lab
Haven't had a dog in about 10 years, had a GREAT Golden. He was my best bud and totally devoted to me. My partner Mittie wants a Golden Doodle (mix b/w Standard Poodle & Golden Retriever). In due time.
Hamilton, too bad about the Golden... I hate when dogs are running around stray like that. My Golden would go under the fence if he was out when we had a storm. I'd be sweating bullets until I found him

That is one adorable puppy.
I have a Golden Retriever, Mikey
Marge
When my first Golden passed I said no more, but after 4 weeks I wanted another dog. That's Mikey and the rest is history. Missy( my first Golden ) will always remain in my heart, but Mikey is also very special in his own way.

What an adorable pup. I bethe has that new puppy smell. I'm not trying to be funny. Puppies of any kind have a disctinct smell. I love nuzzling a puppy neck. I can't remember when I held a little puppy last.

I've shown this one in a diff thread. But again anyway...
The Golden (Hercules, or "Q") is 2 1/2. The yellow (Robin, or "Rob") is 10. The black ("Lou") is 5 1/2.
They love to squirrel hunt. Rob was a cracker-jack retriever in her day. She was also an excellent blood-trailer for deer. The stories I could tell not only about these dogs, but also my now deceased dogs Tex and Rosie. I swear Tex knew how to drive. He had to have driven???
