"And now.... for the rest of the story".

That well known quote from Paul Harvey makes me think that he will never really be replaced. It's kinda like.....

'And now.... for the last of the story'. :usflag:

Can't recall exact figures but he made a ton of money doing that show, a true icon.

I had never heard of him until he used to pop up from time to time on the radio station I listened to when I lived in Phoenix. He had a very interesting way of doing the news. Very unique. Haven't heard him since I changed over to satellite radio 5 years ago.

I think his son is taking over for him. Heard him several times whilst at work. True, there will never be another Paul Harvey......always looked forward to "The Rest Of The Story...."

RIP, my friend. :(

One of the stories told by Paul harvey.

I don't remember the state he was from but a young man went water skiing and lost his senior class ring in the lake. Later that season he was fishing in the same lake and caught some catfish. He found his class ring in the stomach of one of the catfish he had caught. His name was engraved in the ring proving it was his. I have no proof if the story is true but Paul Harvey told it once. Told it alot better than me.:)

His scolding of President Nixon about the war dropped jaws nationwide. Before his time in some ways.

Will miss his humor and informative missives.
