stain on tiles after removing bathtub

I intend to convert the bathtub space into shower stall. However, after removing the tub, there are stains on the ceramic wall tiles. I presume it is caused by the bathtub's adhesive when the tub was installed previously. There were also brownish stain running down the tiles. How do I start cleaning up the stains? Really at a loss. Do I have to end up changing the tiles? :confused:

I would start by scraping the adhesive with single edge razor blades. Next, I suggest acquiring a tile & stone specific high alkaline cleaner and start working on the tile and grout, followed by a good rinse.
