What the best way to remove soap scum and hard water deposits? The pH neutral stuff isn't touching it. These aren't really heavy deposits just enough to give a slight haze to the tile and lighten the dark grout a little.

Also, same bathroom there is a build up of hairspray on the tile floor/grout. What is best to get that off?

On a sad note, they tried to use clr on the door frame of their travertine shower. Sad...

Bryan, i guess they didn't read the label on the clr! If the tile in question is not acid sensitive, a good acidic cleaner should work. If the deposits are thick, you will have to add a razor blade scrapper to the list. Apply the acid, let it dwell and scrape with a blade.

I don't know of anyone in our industry that likes to clean showers - they can be a bear!

The hairspray build up can be cleaned off of ceramic with a floor wax stripper. If it is anything other than ceramic that has a sealer on it, that will be stripped also. If it is not too bad try an alkaline cleaner first and see if you get results. (ammonia and water if you have nothing else)

Hi Brian,

Wear a mask as well as some nitrile gloves then bring out the acetone for the hair spray, use in conjunction with white cotton towels. Open window as well.
