I have 13" porcelain tiles with matte finish and 1/4" grout lines.

About 800 sq/ft of the stuff with light colored grout lines. What is the best way to seal this?

Thanks in advance

have you already grouted yet ?

if not I would use the TEC AccuColor XT grout or add the Grout Boost to any regular sanded grout.

Yup, I have already grouted. Is it common practice to seal the tiles as well?

then a grout sealer applicator bottle like Richie said is easiest.

Do not seal glazed tile, just the grout.:)

One problem i have with the applicator bottle is it gets either too much or too little in the joint.Too much and if not wiped it turns white, too little and you know.

My question is to Brain and anyone else who has used Grout Boost. Do you you like the product, does it change the working time, compared to using water? Got a postcard while back on it, called them to see where you could get it and it wasn't anywhere I could get to, to buy it wanted to try it. Places I called didn't carry it yet, do you like to use it. Has it been around long enough to know it works, is it like admix for laticrete grout? Also do you still have to seal the grout if you use grout boost? Cost? Is it supposed to be a mold and mildew inhibitor(is tht the right word?) Thanks Brian, just never got a chance to use it and would like to.

I love the bottle with a roller and a roller knee pad. Seal about 1500sf per hour including buffing the entire floor afterward to remove excess. The trick is to press some of the air out of the bottle before you turn it toward the grout. You should only have to squeeze lightly after about 10' of sealing. If you don't have a knee roller, it will take you all day any way you do it.

If you are not in hurry and just don't want to crawl on the floor, Jon-Don sells a grout sealer stick that is about 3' long with a wheel on the end. This way you can do it standing. Takes a little longer than the method we use, because you have a tendency to roll out of the line. If you do, just wipe it up. http://www.jondon.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=1e3c4f24a723841abd724d160fc4252e&keywords=MI-GW-EA&x=15&y=11

Sealing grout can be done by using a brush. Check the company or web site for EZ Flow brush. I am not sure of the web site's actual name or address, but that should get you there with a google search.

The brush system can be used when re-coloring grout. If you have grout that ever gets discolored, you can use a product called Grout Armor. This sealer is designed for sanded grout.

I just checked and the name of the company is EZ FLO Brush company.
