We recently purchased a house built in 1926. Both bathrooms have white glazed subway tile on the walls and white hexagonal porcelain tile on the floors.

The tiles are in excellent shape, with the exception of a very few wall tiles that are cracked or have grazing in the porcelain surface. Generally, these flaws don't bother us, but we would hope to bleach out the discoloration if we can.

Other than that, we'd like to restore the tile work as close as possible to original condition. Could anyone please tell us whether it can be done? And, if so, could anyone recommend how to do it?

Thanks for your help.

Holes could be filled with Akemi with the color palettes to match,if you have trouble getting it to stick you could use epoxy knife grade with color also.I would imagine whatever you clean the grout with, be it a tile and grout cleaner/and grout brush from any major manuf. or a steam cleaner it would probably clean the tile surface as well, unless it's serious iron deposits or tannins.A white silicone caulk could be used for some fissures, using a razor blade to cut it and smooth it out. There are even some polishing powders for ceramic tile i think Miracle has one but this would take some experience and tools.
