Back in 1990, the US Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada

for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it. They failed and it closed.

Now we are trusting the economy of our country to a pack of nit-wits who

couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze?

Pennsylvania sells booze very well. Not saying it is a good thing but they keep the prices pretty low.

Pennsylvania might be selling booze cheaply, but there's no telling if they're doing it well or not. They could be selling it at a loss and subsidizing it with other revenue. There's no telling what you're actually paying for it - and non-users may very well be paying for it too.

Pennsylvania, as I recall from my youth, has a monopoly on the sale of packaged liquor in the state. State Stores is what I recall the drug-dealer's locations being called, no?

Government monopoly on anything is a poor eye-dee to my thinking, 'specially when it removes competition for goods or services with the private sector.

But it provides good prices for the citizens on the particular very harmful drugs your state has declared legal? While the same State still spends gobs of your dinero prosecuting the sale and use of other, frequently less harmful, drugs your citizens want? And this is somehow considered a good thing?

Awww, that's OK, I get a little confused alla time about the proper workings of every day things in this life that everybody else unnerstans quite easily. :)

CX,
In what part of the commonwealth did you spend some time?
Should actually be called Commonwealth Stores come to think of it.

Couldn't nobody where I grew up pronounce Commonwealth, let alone know what it might mean. Them was State Stores. :D

I grew up just outside Johnstown, 'bout 60 east of Pittsburgh as I recall it.
