I have some installed travertine that appears to have either a wax or stain transfer from the packaging it was shipped in. It has lines across the top and bottom piece from each case that match the corrugated cardbox exactly. It is very noticable. I have tried a travertine cleaner and a stripper from tile lab. The cleaner did not help at all and the stripper helped very little. I do not want to polish. I have not sealed yet. Any advice on getting this fixed.
Thx. Bo

I'm assuming it is honed.Have you tried acetone?Have you tried an alkaline cleaner or even Pinesol, but be sure to rinse well.If you have then you may wind up rehoning it,or using some 200,then 400 grit stone sandpaper to lightly go over these areas.

Hi Bo, Welcome! :)
What ever you do, continue to TEST first. I'm guessing the packing material was cardboard boxes, and possibly a glue residue. It also could actually be cardboard abrasion marks. If that's the case, only abrasion techniques will correct it.
Either way, I'd bring this up with your supplier.
