When I was a kid, my parents used to take me to Atlantic City. The smell of peanuts from the Planters Peanuts store used to permeate throughout the boardwalk. Maybe thats why I do what I do.

I know this is a little :topicoff:, but the roasting peanuts conjured up the memory of when I was little and my father used to take me into Manhattan at Christmastime. He'd buy me roasted chestnuts, which I'd put in my pockets. Boy, they were yummi ~ and kept the hands warm, too. :p

Well my household has two opinions when it comes to PB

Wife likes the All Natural Peanut Butter & Co, Sweet Dreams Chocolate and also the Vanilla flavored creamy PB's. She'll wipe the Vanilla out of the house within just a couple of days.

I myself like the Super Chunky Honey Skippy PB. Ussually on Ritz crackers with Real butter, or quarter slice an apple and spread it on all four and munch away. Last one was my grandfathers favorite way so I took on that tradition :yummy:

I took a page out of Davy's childhood book and tried the creamy Jif and Log Cabin syrup on my sourdough english muffin this morning - damn good.

I know I will catch hell for this one: when I was a kid my buddy Joel and me would make crunchy peanut butter & sliced cheese sandwich's then pop them in the microwave for 20 seconds just to get the cheese to start melting.

Musta had something to do with living next to all those cheeseheads.

I don't think I have done that in 30 years. :)

None of that Jif, PeterPan, etc. for me. One of our grocery stores has a peanut butter machine. Hopper full of roasted peanuts on top, flip the switch and the best peanut butter ever comes out the bottom. It's not real smooth like creamy, but not chunky either. It just tastes so much better than the stuff in jars. I do like chunky too. Just have to figure out how to add some peanut bits to the fresh ground peanut butter. :)

Nothing like a fresh piece of toast, especially with home made bread, and slap on a big serving of fresh peanut butter while the toast is still hot.

Cheese and peanut butter sandwiches are great. A friend of mine in grad school and I used to make those all the time.

Boiled peanuts -- simply delicious! Had my first ones in 1978 when I moved to SC. Can't stop eating them!

I betcha my food processor would almost do the same thing.

Now that I'm stuck in the house because it gets so dark so early, I need new projects to work on. Grinding nuts for peanut butter sounds do-able. And delicious.

Man, forgot all about peanut butter on apple slices. Used to do that when the girls were little. Pretty tasty snack, especially with a good apple like a Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, etc. that is loaded with flavor.

Another tasty snack item is peanut butter on celery sticks. Just gotta make sure you fill the valley in the smaller pieces.

in one-o-them' lucid moments that's fewer' and further' between as I gits' older-n-older'.......

Back when I was a teeny-bopper' in ought 55 an' part of high school confidential.... I recalls' the following hit song but don't remember nuttin' else about it......

**************
Lyrics: Well, there's a food going 'round and it's a sticky, sticky goo
- Peanut, peanut butter
It tastes to good, but it's so hard to chew
- Peanut, peanut butter
People everywhere, they think it's the most
- Peanut, peanut butter
Early in the morning they put it on their toast
- Peanut, peanut butter

Chorus: I like peanut butter, creamy peanut butter, chunky peanut butter, too!

My old dog started barking in the middle of the night
- Peanut, peanut butter
He woke up all my neighbors, I almost got in a fight
- Peanut, peanut butter
So I gave him peanut butter just to quiet him down
- Peanut, peanut butter
He chewed himself to sleep and he never made a sound
- Peanut, peanut butter
Chorus

I went to a dinner party and what did they eat?
- Peanut, peanut butter
I took a big bite and it stuck to my teeth
- Peanut, peanut butter
People going 'round look like they got the mumps
- Peanut, peanut butter
They were eating peanut butter in great, big hunks
- Peanut, peanut butter
Chorus

Cheese and panut butter crackers, peanut butter pie, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter flavored ice cream, chunky PB, creamy PB, Nutter Butter peanut butter bars, Reeses PB pieces and cups, and on and on and on.
