I was taking some stuff out to the recycle bin tonight and happened to see this. While watching the news a little later they said it was a one night show when the moon, Jupiter and Venus would be lined up together. I managed to get this picture at 6:19 pm.

Clyde
Thanks for the explanation.
It was a beautiful sight to the naked eye as I observed it about 7:30 this evening.
What a NY sky.

Nice picture. I heard about the event last week but I forgot about it. Kind of cloudy out tonight anyway.

I forgot about the event, but remembered after coming out of uhmm, errr,,... H***Deport. Had my camera handy and took a few shots on parking lot and some out of the city lights. Didn't have my tripod with me so the shots aren't completely stable but neverless came out pretty good.

It sure must be! It was kinda low in the SW sky. :)
We had rain and an overcast sky all weekend (actually got about 1 inch of the wet stuff). The sky didn't clear until late afternoon. So, I guess we were lucky to see it.
I did put the camera on the tripod. I think it was ~1/4 sec. exposure. Way too long for me to hand-hold!

Here in the Central States I've been as far north as Northern Iowa and Nebraska to as far south as Corpus Christi TX. Pretty much all flat land. But something is keeping us all here and it ain't the Texas sky, :)
We may get a small tornado here and there but not overwelming Huricanes like those in TX and FL :)

true, but you still get cold and snow :D
I'll take a hurricane a year not to have them.

Brian,
You got me there on the snow. Most of the time really don't want it, especially when I have to deal with it while working. But play time, the Christmas holidays and also bringing in the hockey season, well thats another story.
