From todays news:

"Man finds cocaine in car bought from customs

A German man who bought a car from customs authorities found ten kilos of cocaine inside one of the doors.

Rüdiger Nagel, 41, bought the Chevrolet Suburban after it had been in Hamburg for several years.

It had been shipped there from Mexico and confiscated in 1997 when authorities found 54 kilos of cocaine hidden in the petrol tank and the spare tyre.

But an extra ten kilos stashed away in the rear of the car went unnoticed.

Nagel found the hidden drugs when he took off one of the back door handles because it wasn't working properly, the Hamburger Morgenpost reports.

Inside the car, he found eleven packages of cocaine, wrapped in shreds of a Mexican newspaper from October 1997.

He reported the find to customs, who admitted overlooking the drugs.

"After all, customs staff are only human, too," spokesman Robert Duetsch defended his colleagues.

Nagel eventually got the car back when authorities were sure no more drugs were hidden in it.

"I promised them I'd call again if I found any more," he told the paper."

Actually on second thoughts may be this should go in the idiocy watch. If it happened in the states could Nagel sue the customs. or maybe GM?

Sorry to burst your bubble but 10 kilo's of cocaine just aint worth that much money. Round about street price is $100 gram x 1000 grams in a kilo x 10 kilo's, thats $1,000,000 street value. at per gram price. So that totals at 10,000 grams of cocaine to be sold to roughly 10,000 customers. So basically your bound to get at least one bad customer who will rat on you.

Thats not the kind of retirement I am looking for....:D

John I am From New York I learned that stuff in elementary school....:D
and a little web searching....:D

Now If you want to sell in bulk you can figure on $25-30,000 per kilo @90-95% purity. Now a street dealer would cut that by 50% producing almost twice what was purchased. So at 30,000 a kilo he now has 2 kilos(2000 grams). Sell that by the gram thats $200,000 with a profit of $170,000( minus overhead and court costs).
