My only recollection on that refrain was for either a bread or a beer commercial Oh and at footy matches of course.
We did have a great white hope once. Unfortunately he had to go up against Ali. Ali respected him so much he smacked him in the cobblers. Game over. Due consideration I think Ali might have won anyway.
By the way, how long has Don King been organising street fights?

missed the fight...

don't watch until JJ's gone to sleep, and then only when I happen on it as far as TV goes. I WILL on occasion go out to see a pay per view thingy. Last live fight I was invited to was uhhhhh,,, the guy that said "No mas" about 30 seconds into the first round.

That really burned my butt. Not because I spent the money on the tickets, but because my friend had.

Sonnie,
You obviously do not get out enough!
Live fights are available country-wide on any saturday or sunday in the english football league.
Also in winter watch the NHL.
And if you're really keen to watch another real fight, like the "NO MAS" fight quoted, then you have the WWF or whatever the heck they call theymselves these days.
Failing that, down at least 10 pints of lager and wait out the local chinese take-away, seems to work for everyone in the UK.

You're right... I don't get out at all!!!! Used to be a 5 night a week thingy with pool/billiard tournaments, but I grew up... or gave in, I don't remember. I do know my head still hurts, tho :D.

Your last suggestion is more up my ally, save the chinese food thing. I'm deathly allergic to MSG, so can't do the take out bit.

As someone who's played both Rugby(in my case we called it Irish Football), and the true form of Football, let me say that nothing compares to what you see on Sundays and Monday nights in the fall. There is no comparison at all. All of the others are a game. Football is an event.

Any game of 60 minutes that takes up to 4 hours to complete isn't an event, it is a contagion!

Aussie football ain't half bad, either. Certainly not for wimps.

If we are going the Macho route then it must be Irish Hurling, and I am NOT talking about regugitation after too much Guinness, in which I consider myself of unsurpassed expertise.

Since the advent and popularity of the internet, I'd have to say I've heard that more than once, Al.

It's still a good bit tougher and more demanding than US "Football", which allows a lot of re-grouping and strategizing while on the field. After all, if you're after contact sport, why let the carrier "rest up" for a minute or so between hits? Ahh, well... there is a main ingredient of this website who's a rugby player. Aussie Ball is kind of a good go between for us Yanks. ;) I had third row seats in the playoffs down there a few years back. Pretty exciting, but the food was lacking.

:bang:Sonnie,
Only in the US of A would you ever contemplate going to a sporting event for food.
Jeez hotdogs are re-constituted cow-lips and a**holes!
If you learned anything from your trip to the playoffs it must have been obvious......it's about the booze bruce!:shades:
