I think we do, people that watch their weight, calorieds, fat, etc. shouldn't have bad stuff hid from them, that's why we have the "Nutrition Facts" on everything we eat these days. :)

Anyone that doesn't know "fat free" does not mean calorie free, well, I don't know what to tell ya.:wtf:
Another useless law.

Do we need to know? YES. Does it need to be a law? NO.
If someone is not educating themselves about what is going in their mouth, conspicuous nutritional values are not going to help ... especially the average *bucks Frappuccino consumer. :shades:
For once I agree with Greg, it's a useless law.

This is why liberalism is a good thing, protecting the populace from parasitic vultures. "THEY" want us to be fat and obese and get diabetes, as there is a lot of money to be made in poisoning you. Look at the tobacco industry, these folks (mega- food corps)are no different.
Sure, as tile installers, most of us are way more active than the average person, and can afford a bit more latitude with the consumption ( at least that's what I keep telling myself).
As gueuzewife says, if everyone ate right and excersised, the economy would collapse! Doctors, drug companies, chemical and agribiz, transport, advertising, you name it. Buy local, small scale as much as possible. It costs more, but you are actually investing in your self and your community. Now go drink a belgian Budweiser, lol. Or a Belgian waffle? I gotta go water the hops plants.

Sorry Gueuze, while liberalism may have once upon a time been a good thing, MODERN liberalism is another beast entirely. Modern liberalism always, always, always, produces the exact opposite of its stated intent.
If I am wrong, perhaps you can provide a few examples.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Well, greg, I'll bet that this law was not lobbied for by free market capitalists.
And it's good for everybody, except those who sell bad health.

Good for everybody?
How is it good for businessman to be forced to expend unnecessary capital for labeling that is, or should be common knowledge?
People that are prone to want such knowledge already know it. That's like labeling a skunk "Caution, Stinky".
Still waiting for those examples.:)
Just like the warnings on a pack of cigarettes get smokers to stop smoking, right?

Greg- examples- OSHA and MSDS forms, and this law, that does not place any kind of "unbearable expense" upon chain buissneses with 15 or more outlets nationwide, weather it be a high end Ruth Christ's steak house or McDonalds.
MHI- exactly, it's called informed consent, no one is telling you not to get the food or the smokes, just don't say I didn't warn ya.
Yes, people need to be told because so many of them are stupid, look at all of them that voted for bush the last two elections, he even won once.

At least you got this one correct, by placing "unbearable expense" in quotation marks. Unbearable expense. What exactly does that mean? Unbearable as defined by whom?
Yes, people need to be told because so many of them are stupid, look at all of them that voted for bush the last two elections, he even won once.
Wrongo again gueuze, Bush actually won twice. You didn't see it? It was in all the papers. I know you guys can't stand it, but the Constitution is still in place, for now. Google "The Constitution of The United States of America", you might wanna be sitting down. Life, liberty, the pursuit, blah, blah, blah. :blah:

Which brings up the question, "Why do we feel so compelled to protect the stupid?" By doing so aren't we just perpetuating more stupidity in the gene pool?
Oh Nessie you are being just a little ornery and funny also. :lol1:
I have been up all night so a little humor is welcome.

Fat Free or Low Fat means more sugar. People just have to learn to read those labels.
I have a great solution. No more packaged or fast food. Start from scratch. Eliminate all those funky, chemical ingredients. Eat natural. :) Then there'd be no need for labels.
