Had a repair to make today about 15 miles from home in a little New England town named Peterborough . Had some supplies to drop of on another job first so I did not start going up Rt 101 West till bout 9:30 am ,traffic was nill!
I`m a pretty observant guy no matter what I`m driving I`m always in motorcycle mode (paying close attention to EVERYTHING in ,on,& around the road).
At first I thought nahhhh!!!! then it happened again & my radar went into full screen scan mode . Then one hit my windshield & I hit my brakes as though I was about to hit a moose . Pull over & the road as far as I could see was sparsely scattered with 100 & 20 dollar bills!!! so I started picking them up, when I looked back from the direction I was coming from there's another guy in a pick up on the other side of the road doing the same as me!!! So the contest is on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I`m pickn`m up like mad & when I think I`m running out going west & turn & cross the road & start heading east down towards HIM & theres more bills so we finally meet & look at each other & the same look was on both our faces :uhh: then we both looked around some more & picked up more bills & were about to count what we each had found when he said " look over there"
And there it was , black as night & filled with a few more bills & a drivers license , Yep!!! someones wallet . Turns out it was a Independent Canadian truckers wallet with his Fuel money for his run to the south .
We both tallied our booty I had $2200 & he had $1600 almost 4G`s
So the other guy & I traded business cards & we both agreed he was gona be going to the nearer Police Department than I ,so I gave him my take & went on my way to my repair .
A few hours later when I was going back to my town I stopped by the town where the money & wallet was dropped off to make sure he did drop it off & sure enough he did & the PD had contacted the trucker through his info in his wallet & he hadn`t even noticed it missing eh!!.
He said that he had stopped to get some coffee & food in Peterborough & had his wallet in his hand along with the other stuff & put the wallet down on the foot board to open his door & forgot to pick it up . it traveled about 7 miles before iy fell to the road & started raining $100 dollar bills.
Don`t know if we got it all but I did stop on my way back through & scan some more ,but no more dough.
Just thought I`d share part of my day with ya`ll!!
