1. I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed my large foyer's 16X16 honed limestone--even with a power scrubber and Simple Green tile cleaner, as well as other tile cleaners.
2. Still looks bad (grayish and blotchy).
3. It originally was a nice uniform antique white from Turkey with large "craters" throughout, with some hints of coral. Professionally installed and craters were filled--not sure with what...some filled holes seem to match the bone grout; others seem different...looks like a dense beige product (tiles were set in grey mortar, so don't think I'm looking at dried mortar).
4. Currently using MiraSoap. Realize that former cleaning products may have had undesirable reaction with calc. carb. Have not yet tried a vinegar wash.
5. NO LONGER WANT TO SCRUB--fruitless.
6. QUESTION: Can I just get a power sander and just grind off the top layer, with the hope of giving my floor a fresh start?
7. Alternatively, how reckless would it be to cover the whole floor with a wash of antique white paint, and then apply impregnator to that?
8. Would be very grateful for seriously helpful replies!
