Hello, Trevor here, I'm new to this forum and need some advice. I have searched posts regarding applying new sealer over previously sealed tiles and wanted to be sure my understanding was correct before going ahead.

What I have is 12x12 SLATE tiles sealed with TILE LAB Surface Guard Penetrating Sealer.

I have applied two coats,
First coat prior to grouting
Second coat after grout cured.

The sealant did a great job of highlighting colours, but lacks the "glossy wet look" that I was aiming for, looks more Matte.

I have read that it's possible to apply:
water over water based sealers
water based over solvent based sealers

What options, if any, do I have to increase the gloss finish of my slate tile job?

Could you suggest a product?

Many thanks and keep up the great work!

I think you can strip that sealer off,(which you need to do)with a tile and grout cleaner or haze remover. You will need to test an area to make sure the acidic stripper doesn't harm your slate, which it shouldn't.Or you can make certain this is the right stripper by asking Customs, cause i'm not positive. The sealer youused does nothing to bring out the color or add a shine. Then let dry and use an enhancing sealer,to bring out the color, you can get one from our TYW store above.I wouldn't recommend a topical shine it up type sealer due to maintenance.
