I'm a builder on the western slope of Colorado and recently finished a project where the tile installer used miracle seal and enhance 511 on some expensive black matte finish porcelan tile. The clients wanted matte so dirt etc. wouldn't show as much. We tried a product the sealer manufacter recomended to remove the sealer but the tile still seems glossy and blochy. Is there anything, that will clean the porcelan - any ideas? Anyone?

Big E how did you use the stripper, maybe you didn't work it enough.I've used strippers that i didn't think would work, i had to use a buffer with a black pad to get it stripped off.Rarely do they get it off with just a little hand scrubbing and an acid brush. Now, if the porcelain is polished you still need a sealer in it.

The stripper we used is from Miracle seal and we didn't use a buffer, just hand scrubbing. If we use a buffer - do we then need a sealer because we stripped the polish off? I am not sure I understand. The porcelan didn't need a sealer and it really (the sealer) took away from it's intended look - and we are trying to get back to where we started. What about some more aggresive chemicals - the Miracle seal (restore & clean) is mostly mineral spirits. Anymore ideas?
Thanks for the input, I'm out of my element here.

Hey Big E, did you slap yer' tile setter back side of the head? :D
I'd give Miracle Tech another shout with an update. I would think that Mira Strip would melt that stuff away. Not sure why it wasn't recommended in the first place?
Davestone was referring to a penetrating sealer had you installed a "polished" porcelain. You indicated a "matte" porcelain, so, a penetrating sealer is not necessary unless you wanted to hit the grout joints after cure.
Good luck.

I ordered Mira strip as well as Tile & Porcelan cleaner from Miracle Sealants. They recomended the Tile & Porcelan cleaner, but we will try them both. Yes, I did want to slap the tile installer, but he is trying to remedy the problem. Thanks for the input.
