Well my wifes due date was yesterday.... so the baby is officially overdue...

Its our first one and we are (me especially) pretty pumped! Its a boy too so I can't wait--daddy's little helper :yipee:

I told my wife she had to wait till tuesday when I finish up the big shower I'm working on, and I think she took it literally

Jason

First babies are known to be late. But when they get here, they are worth the wait.

Good Luck to you and your wife on the arrival of your son.

Around here, there's a saying: The first baby can come at any time, the rest take nine months.

Probably not applicable here, though. :)

I second Kathleen's good wishes.

well she's been in labor for 56 hours, poor thing.... she really wanted an all natural birth, and did it for the first 48 hours then finally gave in and took the epidural... really slow going but she is now 9 centimeres and the doc says they are coming back in an hour to push!

Well, it looks like July 9th will have new meaning for the rest of your life.

I hope all goes well. :goodluck:

Oh, I feel for your wife! It sounds exactly like my first labor - I also tried the natural route but it was so long and brutal that I ended up with an epidural too. I always felt bad that I couldn't make the distance, but then I had my second where I did do the whole thing naturally - and that totally sucked! lol! I never appreciated my first birth until after the second.

Hope he's here by now or at least on his way!

Did y'all see that story about the Florida woman who had all her labor and gave birth in 45 seconds??? Her husband says all her kids were born like that. Eerrrrrr might not want to mention that story to the wife until AFTER the glow of motherhood has set in. :lol1:

Jason,
Congrats to you and your wife! When our first was born, she was a couple weeks early. I was on my knees with a heated marble floor when I got the call, "Um, Honey? Can you come home maybe? I think somethings happening NOW!"
MY advice is to stay home as long as you can. My wife still gets a kick out of telling people that she didn't get to change a single diaper until after 10 days. Apparently, that's enough to catapult you to the top of the "Greatest Husbands of History" list among some mothers?
When you get a chance, please post photos. We love baby pictures here!

Great news Jason! Mom looks exhausted, but well. And "The Boy" looks to be really nicely filled out. All that time in the oven has agreed with him. Now, when you gonna explain to him the diff'rence 'tween "modified" and "unmodified"?
Congrats!!!!

Congratulation to you and your wife Jason. Are you able to wipe that grin off your face yet?
Good Luck

Jerry,
Marcus is nearly one-year old now and he still puts that grin right back on my face nearly every day. Jason's got a wonderful world ahead of him. I hope he hurries up and grabs sleep before the opportunity whisks right by him. :D
