We just bought a house here in Florida. Nice little place. The previous owner put a tumbled travertine shower in (the walls from tub top to ceiling). I have been hunting around trying to find out how to properly take care of it. So far I have learned to wipe it down after use. Can I use a shammie? one of those tan things my husband uses to dry off his car. Obviously I would get one just for the shower. I ask because I really don't want to use my nice towels to clean with. Also everyone keeps saying use a ph neutral cleaner for everyday/weekly cleaning. Where the heck do you get it and what are a few brand names of it? The tiles feel very waxy right now which I thought was how they were supposed to feel kind of like soapstone now after reading I realize it's more like soap scum..... Also for an occasional deep clean everyone keeps saying to use a different cleaner again what is it, name, where do I get it? Do I need to seal the tiles and/or grout occasionally if so how often and with what?

Ok so in addition to the shower he put travertine on the vanity the big pieces are smoth but the smaller detail pieces and edging are all tumbled. Do I use the same cleaner on the smooth tiles as the tumbled ones? Smae products as the shower?

Thanks for being patient with all my questions I just want to be sure I take of this properly.

Here's from a post below yours...Neutral cleaners are cleaners that are not chemically alkaline nor acidic. They are ph neutral. Both acids and alkalines have their place, but either one is harmful if used too often on stones, which in general are alkalines. Most of the chemical companies,Dupont,Aquamix,Stonetech(which you can buy here) have their own line of cleaning supplies, just look for the term neutral.
