As far as Chicagoans are concerned, the real Bozo (http://www.tvparty.com/lostbozo.html) died in 1997. Bob Bell, who most famously portrayed Bozo in Chicago (superstation WGN Channel 9), is said to have been the inspiration for the voice of the Simpson's Crusty the Clown.

And while I'm at it, hat's off to Ray Rayner (http://www.chicagotelevision.com/rayner.htm) ! :yo:

back in the late 80's when I was racing bikes I had a favorite sweatshirt
with the "no bozo's" logo on it, everybody loved it !! haha
