I'm staying local, having a BBQ with my neighbors.
I'll also be visiting my Dad at the nursing home as it will be his 91st birthday.

Happy Birthday Kathleen's Dad!!!
I'm just workin' around the house. Maybe go down to the local lake and watch fireworks.
My neighbor usually has a big shin dig, maybe walk down there and visit. They usually set off a bunch of fireworks.
Ahhhh, the exciting life I lead eh?  At least I ain't workin'. :yeah: (Well, not at work, anyways)
Jeff, Matt, what are you guys? Workaholics? Take a friggin' break already. :D First one's on me. :neesie:

Happy Birthday to your daddy! :aparty2:
We'll be going over to some friend's. Momma, daddy and bubba will be there. (For all you yanks who think that 'bubba' means redneck it is actually a pet way of saying brother.) We'll be grilling fajita stuff and swimming. Probably take Harley (or newest addition) with us to entertain my dad. No fireworks unless DH still has some stashed away.

Staying local. Lewisville, NC has a traditional July 4th celebration at their town square with a fabulous fireworks display. I'm going to take my two and a half year old grandson to see the fireworks. It will be his first time. :usflag:

Please, don't anyone forget what the Fourth of July represents. On that day in 1776 our leaders proclaimed our independence from Great Britain. Eight years of war ensued during which we just managed to back it up. It was a close one, and it still is. ;)
We'll be view the "Tall Ships" in Tacoma (Wa.) Harbor. :)

I'm working on (and in) my house and in my shop.... and posting right here on the TYW forum.
Aren’t I industrious?
Kate..... 91 to me is an unbelievable age.
For you, I wish your pop could enjoy another, very healthy 91 years.
I suspect I won't make it but.... who-in-hell' knows fer sure.

I think we are pretty much going to hang out at home, try to stay cool, and hope for rain. May pick up a couple of steaks or maybe some salmon or tuna this afternoon to do on the grill tomorrow.
The kids are going to drop by for a little bit and then go on to some friends. Frances and I may venture out for some local fireworks or just stay home. Not sure. We made a quick trip to the Atlanta area this week for a friends retirement party and a short visit with some relatives on the way home last night.
Oh, and :birthday: to Kathleen's Dad.

Sure was Kate, but the rain didn't hold out here.It rained for a good hour around 3,but at least we were under tents.Afterwards,a neighbor set off a few fireworks that he picked up from New Hampshire the week before. Was a nice finish to the night.
Thanks for the drink Dan,much appreciated.

Warm and humid day here in Winston-Salem. After some light rain and distant thunder early in the evening, the sky cleared enough for my 2 1/2 year old grandsons first fireworks show in the all-American town of Lewisville, NC (home of Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets and Team USA). Needless to say, he was mesmerized by the great fireworks show. Seeing his amazement and joy was easily the highlight of my week. Nothing like teaching your grandson that he/she lives in the greatest nation on earth. First, a Flyers fan and now, an American Patriot. Puts a tear in my eye.
Hope you all had a truly American and safe forth. :usflag:

Didn't put brakes into "wifes car" but hurt my back the other day bringing in a computer monitor. Man, those things are heavy and awkward.
Next time computer son is coming over to help me. This old body of mine just can't do heavy labor anymore.
Better off working in my garden. :)

We had a change of plans for the fourth. Friends invited us for a cookout and fireworks. They live on a hill in the country and we were able to see quite a few fireworks before we set off our own. We had a great time and didn't get home until midnight. Pretty late for a retired couple! :gerg:
