Did armstrong really land on the moon?

I say no! because if they could put a man on the moon they would have people up there all the time, dont you think?

I flew first class once. I didn't do it again though because it's a bit pricey.

It's hard to fight commies in Viet Nam and send folks regularly to the moon at the same time, even if you are Uncle Sam.

I saw that program Steve, and they make a convincing argument, but it's baloney, i was alive then and watched it, it was pretty exciting.

If you think about it, faking a trip to the moon, and then keeping it a secret for 40 years, may be every bit as hard as sending a guy to the moon.

if so why is no one else gone there then dave? and only the us surley like russia or china would want t land there too.
What a buzz tho wlkin on the moon would be amazin. never no 20 years from now might be able to the way technoligy is going.

wasnt the year 1969 he went?

ddmoit; I know it would be hard but it is also hard to see no one else do it...

im sitting on th fence for this one.

I think it comes down to economics and know-how, Steve. The US is the only country to put the two together for a while.

Going to the moon at all - and especially being first - has an enormous amount of economic profit in the form of prestige. But additional trips don't have a cumulative effect in that regard.

Now, if there was money to be made by going to the moon, several organizations would be doing it by now.

I suppose your right,
there really is nothing to be gained buy going to the moon and all to loose.
I mean it must costs $xx,xxx, xxx.xx's to even get there an nothing to gain from the trip, maybe one day they will build on it.

tommyhousehold; lil green men area 51 (independece day eat your heart out ha ha)

I was 13 in 1969 and a friend and I spent alot of days at the local college swimming pool, we could swim all day for a quarter. I remember my mom making me stay home that day and watch them land on the moon. I didn't like missing pool time but now I'm glad I watched the whole thing on TV. :)

I was only 5, and made to watch it too. Of course I didn't appreciate it at the time. Like a typical five-year-old, I became bored with footage of the landing approach. It seemed like an eternity to me. Are we there yet?

they would have people up there all the time, dont you think?doing what ?
plating trees ?
collecting cheese ?
there isn't anything there, it was just an accomplishment.
that's why we are now trying to walk on Mars.

there are the skeptics:

My family and I lived in Florida for a few years while my father worked at the cape in Florida from 67-70 so I saw most of the moon shots go off in person. If it was a huge fake, my dad is an EE that helped pull it off. Based on what I saw and what he's told me, I'm pretty sure that the Eagle did land on the moon.

We did land on the moon. All of the so called "evidence" to the contrary, has been thoroughly debunked.

That little green man in Area 51 (check it on google earth) must be bored by now - think of all the TV repeats he's had to endure..and as for the guards...uhh

Other people did land on the moon; several Appolo missons after Neil A's.

Tiles predate Roman empire - as far back as 1180 BC - Egyptian - as far as I have on ref.
Chew on that guys !

HS345
07-02-2008, 05:58 PM
Actually Steve, the Earth is covered with craters, they're just a little more difficult to see due to our atmosphere. Plant life, erosion, etc.. obscure them. But they are there.
