:bang: I just have to sound off about this and I know it serves no useful purpose, but it just pisses me off soooooo much. Pay the state $45 for a shower pan permit and subsequent inspection. It's an additional fee in addition to your normal state plumbing permit and inspection. AND he only comes on Tuesdays and the dry-wallers come on Wednesday (you missed it by a day so now you gotta wait a week for the inspector to drive 70 miles to tell you your shower pan doesn't leak). That's fine, the dry-wallers have plenty to do, but still it makes me want to scream!!! if I'm stupid enough to put in a shower pan in my own house without checking it for leaks, that's my problem; isn't it?

I wouldn't even get it inspected except the inspector saw the shower when he passed my original plumbing inspection and told me I needed a separate permit and inspection for the shower pan. Not only that, he studied the damned Kerdi application sheet for ten minutes before he agreed I could even put the thing in. THIS after I already paid for the Kerdi and had started the project.

Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you.

regards
Richard

:uhh: :twitch:    :shake: :crap: :complain:  :wtf:
And to think, there are those who want the gummint to run EVERY aspect of their lives.

"Sorry Mr. Smith, I can see you are in great pain by the way you are clutching your chest, but the doctor only sees patients on Tuesdays."

I wouldn't even get it inspected except the inspector saw the shower when he passed my original plumbing inspection ....and people ask me why I don't do permits on most of my remodeling project. We are told time and again that when an inspector shows up he is only there to look at the work on the permit. HAH! That's crazy, of course. These people want their money (well, OUR money, but they think it belongs to them) and they're not going to pass up an opportunity to cash in.
