I just moved in to a new home and the master shower has a stunning slate shower with 16" X 8" dark gray state tiles with a charcoal gray grout... The Tile guy sealed the shower with Aqua Mix Pro-Solv and recommended that I reseal the shower every 6months and to make sure I get the shower floor very well...

So my question is how do I keep the shower looking as good as it does now? Of course I will reseal every 6months with Pro-Solv (is this a good product? is there any better?) but how should I clean the shower? Normally I use Lysol Mildew Remover with Bleach but I am guessing that is not the best product to use now?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Vivid,

An ammonia / water solution works well for cleaning. The best thing you can do to keep your shower looking new is drying it after each use ... seriously.

thanks,

So Scrubbing Bubbles or blue Windex would be good cleaners, if I remember correctly they are both ammonia based?

Are there any specific other products that are considered very good for cleaning shower slate or is a home made ammonia solution just as good?

Wellll, we normally suggest a neutral cleaner for daily.or frequent cleaning, and a high alkaline cleaner/ammonia for occasional heavy duty cleaning.Ammonia cleaning needs a good rinse with a neutralizer like a neutral cleaner.(most tile and stone cleaning manuf have their brand of neutral stone cleaners)I wouldn't worry so much about frequent sealing,it helps if the stone can breathe and release moisture.
