Hi all

I have a real bad problem, I have just tiled a kitchen floor with balck and white 600/600 polished porcelain tiles, the floor has been laid in a chess board pattern. The client wanted Black grout so i used (anthrecite ardex c2 with some 101). anyway I grouted the floor but encoted a major problem.. problem being size 8 black Reebok classics footprints all through the whit tiles.. The problem is that i subcontract to a very high quality tiling company who sell top quailty tiles that are already sealed. I asked the client as to were they got the tiles as the thiknesses were different an also the sizes verryed. They said the dreaded B&Q. I always refuse to lay B&Q tiles for these reasons.

so here is my questions

1 can the stains be removed some how? as i cant really seal my trainers into there tiles.

2 am i liable? the owner of the company told me i wasnt at that they shouldnt buy cheap tiles,

he also said that the tiles in question are £6 a sqm an there are problems finding a sealer that sticks to them..

any help would be appriciated thanks

Welcome, Steve. If that's your first name. :)

Please don't post the same question on more than one forum. Causes confusion and duplication on the part of those who may want to help. This is the correct forum for the problem you have, so please be patient.

Responses are sometimes a bit slower on weekends when our un-paid staff start thinking they actually have a life outside the forums.

Steve you should be able to use some grout haze remover or sulfamic acid crystals and an acid brush to get them out.Now actually on polished porcelain you need to use a sealer to avoid these problems,as the pores are opened up during polishing. You may wind up using a buffer and a brown pad or even a stiff nylon brush, and you may not totally remove the grout imbeded in the pores but i think you can. After cleaning use an impregnating sealer.
