I hate vehicles. I own two cars and a truck. (this all happened in teh last couple weeks) Car #1 1985 honda crx- front pipe exhaust blew which I can't get off because everthing is totally rusted.....loud as hell...gas tank strap broke off, headlight keeps blowing, emergency brake done....I do the rock thing like BBcamp. Car #2 1991 isuzu impulse - muffler blew, rear strut done, cv boot cracked, need new wheel bearing. can't get winter tires off even when i beat the crap out of them. Made a quick buy on a 1988 F-150 that a friend was yaking about. Told me it had 150,000kms on it. Checked it out, drove it, never checked the kms ( still not sure why I didn't) seemed like a deal for $1000......got it home was really 350,000kms. Took the honda off the road, front pipe cost about $150 ......more than the car is worth and now I'm driving this truck praying that it don't die....somebody slap me :bang:

Well this morning I got in my 6 month old e150 to go to work and the key wouldnt turn in the ignition.Mind you I have a customer who took the day off work to let me in the house.I called ford to come get the van, called the customer and told them to go to work. The tow truck arrives and while towing the van out of the drive, hits my house and rips the downspout off the house, this doesnt set me off sice that was hit with the tow truck but on the other side of the van is a dent where they hit the fence.I saw them do it and my fence paint was on the scrape of my van.The driver denied it and left my van sitting in the middle of the street blocking my neighbors driveway that i dont like very much,I called the owner of the tow company and they said I would have to sue them.I called ford and they said I had to take the matter up with the towing company,I called my insurance and after an hour said they werent sure what to do.I called the cops and they laughed and said i better move my van, which I couldnt push because the ignition was stuck.I called ford again and they sent the same driver who threatened me.I called aaa and had it towed to the dealer who fixed the ignition and charged me 300 bucks for an item under warrenty. And now if my insurance does pay for it I have a $500 deductable and it wont cover my house, lawn or fence and on top of that I have a customer pissed at me so now i have to work all weekend. The end.

Jeez William. I got pissed just reading it!
I would have my attorney all over it. Not only for the money, but general principle. And I think that tow truck driver would have got the ass whipping of his life. Ha, then I definately would need the attorney.:D

That was the only reason i didnt whoop him.It is the principal,if he had said he was sorry and was afriad to lose his job,I would have dealt with it,or offered me a 12 pack or a free tow...

that bites William. And to think its a new truck. Sometimes old is better than new. My truck actually runs and looks like it has 150,000 on it so I don't feel to bad, plus it has a fairly new cap on teh back, whole new exhaust, new brakes and rotors and so forth. I just hope the engine holds out for a few months. If you'd had smacked him Jim might have to give up his name and call you the "Da Leveler".....I know how about "Da Whooper"...

Fords, ya cant live with em and when somebody tries to bury one for good, someone else drags it outa the Mud and tries to keep it on the road.
The story goes like this. When i was young and just starting out, my dad says here son, take this old rider of mine i just picked up a new one.So i think great. After putting 4-500 dollars into this POS i have a POS still.it runs for a few months and the motor goes. So, Dad calls up and says ya know son i really dont need this chain saw anymore you can have it.After spending 150.00 for new filters plugs, Bar ,chain (and carb kit cause he didnt tell me it didnt run) I have a 15 year old POS Saw.After cutting a cord of wood the thing throws a Rod.So Dad calls and says,Son, ive got this Outboard motor for your boat,No really you can have it.
Dad, I cant afford any more free stuff, but hey, if ya give me 40.00 i'll haul it to the junkyard for you.:D

Randy hope this makes you feel better, 350,000 KMS is only 217,480 miles ;)
Wiliam, Ford is responsible. Don't let them bullshit you, they contracted the truck and sent him. They are responsible for every dime in damages. Threaten the BBB, State Attorney General, and Ford Detroit. Do this in writing.

There was a story on another board where a pool sales co repossessed the wrong (aboveground) pool. Actually an independant contractor made the screwup. They tried to bully their way out, wouldn't even return the pool their guy stole. It didn't work in court. Fight back! Try calling your local TV channels and newspapers. Here in Boston they love the big corporation vs. the little guy story.
