I have spectraLoc pro grout on matte finish porcelain tiles. my installer had a little difficulty getting it completly clean. I can see foot tracks and bucket rings in the matte finish. They tried several things to remove the splotchy look without success. Today I applied dupont heavy duty stripper following the instructions on the product. Left it on for two hours then used white pads under a floor machine and scrubbed the bejezz out of it. Then I rinsed three times picking up the rinse with a wet vac. Then washed three more times with water and vineger. After it dried I see only a little improvment.I have more to do and I'm thinking maybe I need to seal or use an impregnating sealer. Doe's anybody have any thoughts that migh save my project? Thanks You guys are great! Rick.

How long has it been since the job was initially grouted?

Spectra Loc pro applied last wed night late, cleaning followed till early morning hours. I used cleaner on Sat. Day. Oh by the way, the installer dampened the tiles prior to grouting as in grouting with standard grout. Spectra Loc say's dry the tile. Then apply. Do you think this is part of the problem? Thanks. Rick.

Hmm... sounds bad. We'll wait for some others to chime in.. but I'm not sure what to tell you ..
"Unlike cement grout haze that can be buffed off the following day, LATICRETE SpectraLOCK PRO Grout film/haze that is allowed to cure on the tile surface may be difficult to remove. Make certain to check tile surface with adequate lighting after the tile surface is dry."
Did he follow the clean up stages per directions? Did he use the cleanup solvent package in 2 gallons of clean water?

I counted the wash packets left for use with the rest of the units and it appears that they were used in this goaround. I was not present at the time it was done. In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have done anything for seven days. But I did and there is marked improvment this morning with the morning sun reflecting across it. I could almost live with it. Not quite, but almost.

Rick, First thing is call Laticretes tech support and follow their recommendations,Second dont pay the installer until haze is removed.Last there are several products for epoxy haze removal Mapei,Aquamix,Etc have strippers just to remove epoxy grout haze.Just always follow directions to a tee and test in a small area first.

try TCP. a cleaner that you can get at any hardware store.
I dunno about that, Tim. I can't find anything but TCP substitute in my area. One more thing my government is helping to save me from?
The substitute does not work the same as the real stuff.
My opinion; worth price charged.
And welcome aboard, by the way. If Tim is in fact your name, please go to the UserCP, find Edit signature and enter the first name there for us to use. We're a pretty friendly group hereabouts. And since you're in the business, stop by the Professionals' Hangout and start a thread of introduction and give us a bit of professional background. :)

Thanks. I will call tech people at Latacrete tomorrow. You mentioned TCP as cleaner. By chance did you mean TSP? Tri Sodium Phosphate?
I think we both meant TSP, Rick. I got lead astray by Tim. :D
And would you please put your first name in a permanent signature line for us so's we don't gotta search for it? :)
