JC,
I foolishly took a peak, but when it appeared that I was never going to get away from that site I bailed as fast as I could.
What are you up to now?
Actually all you have to do is wait ten seconds like it says..it's is just a demonstation.

What good is it?
And it doesn't turn off in ten seconds. It's a nuisance.

Yea I am kicking around stuff to put on my page but I guess there is no way to have pop-ups without irratating people.

JC,
The best things to put on your page are simple -- things that don't take much time to load. People won't hang around very long at all if something doesn't happen quickly.
No pop-ups, no banner ads, no flash stuff, and I think "frames" is a waste of time, plus it cuts down on your usable screen.
I've received a lot of compliments on my site because it's so easily navigated. Have you ever looked at the rest of the site? http://www.johnbridge.com

JC, I'm with John, mine is all text, I suppose I could put videos and pictures in but I would rather it loaded up fast and just gave the facts. However, we really don't know what you plan to do with your site, business or fun or current events.

That thing didn't go away in ten seconds for me either. When I tried to close the page an identical page would overlay. After waiting ten seconds, nothing happened.
What is it ultimately supposed to do???
Me, I had to restart the damn confuser to make it go away!
Ease up on us Web cripples, JC.
Please.
Sir.

There was a jerk earlier this year at another board that fancied himself as a great computer magician. What he was was a dick.
Anyway, he lured several of those guys to his website. Once they arrived they could never leave, their box was hooked and they couldn't get away.
The smarter guys immediately recognized what was happening and literally shut off everything they owned, then restarted. The less knowledgeable guys that played around there for a while trying to get away found that the longer they stayed in that site the more damage that was done to their computer contents.
I fail to see the humor is that kind of screwin' around.
Nah I don't do anything like that, I had guys try to do stuff like send Sub7,Net Bus and things like that for the same reasons you said but that is illegal and abuse of trust.
Ok it does not go away, it just stops replicating then you just click the close about 29 times but the thing is you don't have to reboot or lose unsaved data. Try it again if you don't believe me I did about 3 times to make sure I am using netscape and it does it everytime..harmless.
Now I have clicked on a similair link like this before once and it did not stop until your computer froze up and instead of a freindly "just wait a few seconds" screen you got a nasty beastiality pic to look at.....uggh.
The lesson here is that Java is what is used to make pop-up windows....so by going into your browsers options you can disable Java and keep this from happening. Go ahaed and feel free to test this with that link I posted.
Instead of pop-ups you will get a thing saying that it won't work.
However Java does good things also so to disable it all the time might limit your internet experience.
What I do is disable it when I am randomly surfing so I don't get screwed up with pop-ups and pages that trap you etc..
Agreed about the simple is better for a site. I don't know what kinda site to have. Maybe a forum would be nice for my family to keep in touch, John where did you get your forum software it is a nice set-up?
Or try this for IE (don't worry it's not a trick)

:(
Am not!! Rob it is just a FREINDLY pop-up window that opens like 20 times and stops then you have to close each one.
It is a DEMO of how Java can be used with almost identical method to keep replicating till it crashes your browser.
But it does not crash or hurt anything...that is why Bud is still here and doing just fine. Aren't you Bud?
