Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Communist leader of the Soviet Union, has acknowledged his Christian faith for the first time, paying a surprise visit to pray at the tomb of St Francis of Assisi.

interesting indeed. And it certainly puts a new light on stories like this one (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EIN/is_2000_Oct_17/ai_66156587) of Gorby meeting with religious leaders like Schuller, who said of Gorbachev: "Mr. Gorbachev may call himself an atheist, but I believe that God used this atheist in a mighty way by letting me send a message of hope and renewal to the Russian people on a night of all nights, Christmas eve, 1989." now we know "the rest of the story."

and btw, Gorby has also done pretty well as something of a capitalist since his retirement. :laugh2:
