The date has been set! :)

One and all are invited. Need directions let me know.

All of our friends who have been so generous with support of this event in previous years we encourage you to again help with your donations. We have been able with your support to have some really great give aways. We are looking for this year to be bigger and better.
Looking forward to some new faces here this year.

Jerry, sounds like a great time. One of these days, we are going to schedule a trip to your part of the country and try to join the party. We've about blown the travel budget for this year. Maybe next year.

Woot! Can't wait Jerry! You and Patti put on a tremendous spread. I can't wait! Hannah had a great time last year too. Marcus could be walking by then also??

Jerry, can you build a play yard for Shaughnn's kids? Maybe park your truck at the neighbors and use that area? How about a moon walk? :D

My Patti and I are certainly looking forward to the auspicious event. Previous years have been most enjoyable. I do hope we'll see new faces this year. :)

We'll be in the Seattle area by the end of June, and we'll leave a few days after the party. We're headquartered in the Tacoma/Federal Way area. Always open to meeting people. ;)

Hey, what's wrong with some of the old faces? :D

Shaughnn, glad to hear you can make it with the date change!! Looking iffy for us.

We are lucky in that we get to see Shaughnn's kids grow.

Those are awfully outdated, Jerry. In fact, I don't know that the upside-down girl is even mine. I'm pretty sure she belongs to SugarBeth.
Here's some taken recently. Hannah baking with Mom and Marcus just after his rough 4/10 split this afternoon at a friend's bowling party.

What's this I heard today about no Salmon fishing allowed on West Coast this year?

Shaughnn
05-16-2008, 11:05 PM
Yup. The commercial season was canceled because frankly there aren't any fish coming back to spawn this year. Speculation is that they've been starving to death in the Pacific Ocean because their normal diet has been disrupted by changes in the climate and the toxification of the ocean. But that's just that idiot Al Gore talking. We all know he can't be right.

Maybe we'll do some Lemon-Rosemary Chicken on the grill and call it salmon? :)

The first Copper River, Red salmon hit the markets today. speculation was that it would fetch $40.00 a pound. Sure glad I have had times in my life when I was able to eat my weight in salmon and it was free. Also because the weather has been real bad up north there they have not been able to catch very many of them.
remember last year we had the salmon patti burgers which were pretty darn good. I have been keeping an eye on them in the store and they seem to always be in stock and the price on them has not gone up very much. Maybe I should fill the freezer right now. Might be a good idea. :) Think I will do that.
Boy did we have BBQ weather yesterday and today. Warmest May 17th since 1956 it was over 90 in some parts of the local area yesterday and high 80's today. We have had a fairly cold spring and this was quite a change. Lot's of folks already complaining it was to hot.
Glad that we have a cool breeze of the ocean tonite here in Ballard. Just right.

Jerry,
I hope you got some grill time in today. It was beautiful! I fired up the coals for two pork shoulders (for pulled pork sandwiches), some sweet white corn, and more asparagus. Served the pork "Memphis Style" with mustard slaw on top with just a dab of sauce on top.
Hannah enjoyed her wading pool, with the help of another 3-year old and her 6-year old brother. Just a great day to be vertical and breathing, don't you agree? :)

Eighty degrees? Y'all better get that place cooled off quick. :D

Gonna be in the low nineties here next week. It's creeping up, time to get out of Dodge. ;)

Get the salmon patties, Jerry. Put it on your expense sheet and turn it in. I don't want to hear Shaughnn bitching about having to eat chicken. :D;

A little bird told me there was another seafood fest! I had a lot of fun last year. I miss you guys - I haven't been on the boards in quite some time. Just now I was catchin' up on the debate threads - I always like reading Shaughnn's posts! :)

The date will be hard for me, but if I can make it after all, I will let you know! Otherwise maybe I'll catch you next year when the summer won't be so crazy.

I do love the bucket of goodies that I won in the raffle - I recently used some of that stuff and I was so glad to have it!

Oh, and the little girl in the photo above isn't mine - I remember seeing her, but don't remember exactly who she belonged to (I suck at names).

Have fun! :)

Jerry,
John suggested a play yard for my unruly kids. I could bring the bounce house and put it in your front yard? :D
So, who all is coming this year? I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again, though I'll probably be running around chasing my kids the whole dang time. Marcus should be walking by then (he's already cruising walls) and Hannah just likes to dance.
Shaughnn
PS: Both kids DEVOURED some Copper River Sockeye tonight. I hope we'll have enough for the rest of you?

Gosh bum I wish I could come. Maybe next year. It's just not in the time frame this year. Us non-self employeed folks can't just come and go ona whim like y'all.

John Bridge
06-21-2008, 08:00 AM
Don't cry, Neesie. The joys of self employment are akin to those of show biz. We are sometimes UNemployed for extended periods but just can't leave the biz. ;)

Hope you can make it, Sugar Beth. We need a little more refinement around that place.

Shaughn,

Jerry has no front yard. It's all out back. ;)

Shaughnn
06-21-2008, 08:32 AM
John,
I remember the layout of Jerry and Patti's place. I woulda set up the thing inna FRONT yard. Kept the kids outta the way of the grown-ups and, since it's in carnival colors, it might have matched well with Jerry's pennant out front. :)
I'll just have to settle with entertaining the tots with beer and bar-b-que. :D

I hadn't thought that she'd remember last year so clearly but she remembered "the Well" and that Daddy's friend Trask brought his friends too. Can't wait to make more memories. I still don't know what to bring for the Potluck though? Beer and,...?

Man Oh Man :)
It was another great party again this year.
The halibut and cod. Soooo good. Thank you Phil. What a great thing to share with us. It grilled up so nice.

Shaughnn, Matt, and Phil were big winners of raffle items They each went home with lots of new toys. I will let one of them tell you about them.
And they rest of us we have new shirts, hats, mugs, pens, pencils, floats, trowels tool belts, tool bags and other sundry items.

The weather was just right light overcast and high 70's

Scooter the talking dog was in seventh heaven with all the little kids whom he could clean off their plates when they were not watching. He also had a good time entertaining Patti and her folks with his conversations.

We wish that more folks could have made it over but I say that every year.
Again a big thank you for the folks at

And WOW! to our sponsors. Granite City Tools, Schluter Systems, Makita Tools, and Master Wholesale all dished out the "John Bridge Love". I can't wait to give the roll-over bit a test drive? A big thanks also to Steve Maloney (Irish Tile Guy in Michigan). He donated a pair of stacking braces, which I won in the raffle! Whoot! As we speak, I have a tab open to New Belgium Brewing Co.:D

Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.:yeah:

Did I mention I like beer? :drool2:

Greg,
I'm particularly fond of their "1554". It's a "black ale" which satisfies my tase for porters and stouts without being heavy at all. Still not light enough for drinking in the sunshine, but it's a nice compliment to bar-b-qued meats.
Hope you can find it?
