called my friend in Salem (South West of Portland), he didn't hear or feel a thing in the a.m..
people aren't even talking about it he said.
Nope, of course I was sleeping.
Offshore earthquakes aren't all that unusual here, there was a 6.4 in January (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,321529,00.html), but only occasionally can they be felt.
We're waiting for the overdue "big one". The last was a 9.0 in 1700.

There was a 6.3 in Wells Nevada a week or so ago. My wife and her sister were in Salt Lake City and felt some tremors.
The last was a 9.0 in 1700.
Just curious, how did they measure earthquakes back in the 1700s?
