Hey Guys,
I've recently finished constructing and tiling a shower. The walls are porcelain 13x13 and the floor is 2x2 natural stone.
I have not yet grouted the shower. I was wondering what the best type/brand of sealer to use after I grout.
Any specific products you can reccomend? Should I use a sealer that blocks water, or one that allows water to be absorbed??
Thanks all!!

If you haven't grouted, you might consider Spectralock. A little spendy, but looks like you weren't too concerned about that. You'd still have to seal the stone floor, but the grout will stay nice without it.

Well, on the walls, I'd be looking for a non-sanded grout and then sealing that with a water-resistant sealer, something like a silicone sealer, or a flurochemical sealer. Both should be impregnating sealers that seal from within - and yet breathe.
What natural stone do you have on the floor? that answer will dictate what grout and what sealer if any I"d be using...

The best sealer is acrylic hairspray.
It doesn't cause any injuries either.
If they make a LAYTEX sealer, let me know.
Matt, per my earlier comment to one of your posts, this forum is also part of the shallow end where we try to keep the advice to the visitors in conformance with industry standards or manufacturer's instructions. If you want to discuss the merits of non-standard tile practices, the Professionals' Hangout is open to one and all. :)

Hey,
The floor tile is tumblestone with pits and indentations. I haven't yet grouted. I've done a tile before. Floors and one other shower. So I've got experience with grout. Should i spend the money and time and do epoxy based SpectraLock. I've heard mixed reviews about this stuff...
