Hi - and thanks in advance for your input.
I'm about to lay tiles in an L shaped bathroom. Approx. dimensions of the 2 long walls are 7' x 7'. I'm using 13" x 13" tiles.
Where should I lay the first full tile?

Oh goody, a word problem! :D
By my ciphering, I think the first grout line should be about 8 7/32" from the long walls. Here's how I got to this: Divide the length of the wall (in inches) by the length of the tile plus one grout line (I assumed 3/16"). The number included a fraction less than 1/2. I took the fraction, added one, and divided by 2. Simple, eh? :D
An easier way is to find the center of the room, then lay your tiles out until you get to the walls. If you start with a grout line on the centerline, and you get a less than 1/2 tile at the wall, shift the tiles so a tile straddles the centerline. The last thing is to take a broad look a the layout to see if you created problems in corners or bumpouts, and adjust accordingly.
