hello all! this site has been very helpful but now i have a question i've not seen asked here. so some history first since i know most of this will get asked.
new bathroom in renovated house has a 4x5 shower. porcelain 8x10 wall tiles on blueboard attached with prolastic and porcelain 2x2 mosaic floor on hardieboard over sloped mortar bed attached with versabond. 1/8 grout lines throughout. i used laticrete brand (light pewter) with a latex add mixture and sanded grout for floor and unsanded for walls. wish i'd have used sanded throughout as it's easier to work with. ANYWAYS, i've been using the home depot stuff for sealing called TILELab Maximum Protection. i've put three heavy apps and the third didn't really soak in totally so as directed i buffed off excess. my question is this: when i applied the third app some of the grout darkens but not all. should i keep applying until it doesn't darken when wet? i've basically applied 1.5 quarts to this entire shower. or will this grout always darken after use and then of course lighten up upon drying? or should i keep 'pouring' the sealer on until no darkening occurs? thanx in advance, joe.
