I have installed a porous tumblestone tile on a half bathrooom floor. I have already put down a coat on enhancing sealer. I'm not really happy with the color and the vendor recommended I use sulfamic acid cleaner manufactured by C Cure to strip the sealer. They then recommended that I experiment with wood stains to modify the color of the actual tile and apply it to the floor. I have been testing some colors on spare tiles but I'm wondering more and more if I am going to ruin my floor? The tint is more pinkish than I wanted, definetly not what I was sold on. I can live with what I have but I would like to change it. I'm not afraid of the work, just a poor outcome. Any suggestions are welcome...

Thanks,

Greg

I don't think this would be advisable.

Thanks for the advice Brian. I was a little skeptical about this advice from the vendor. Is there anything on the market that I can do to change the tone of the tile I have installed? I have already put down a coat of enhancing sealer.

Well, most enhancing sealers are non removable, although you can sand the stone and wind up with a different look depending on what grit and how you hone it,,but this takes skill, and i wouldn't recommend you try it.You could also try a few other products such as a solvent based enhancer, it may bring out more of the bad color you don't like though. And there are agers, products used to darken stones in the honing process,Tiger Ager is one, but i couldn't tell you what the outcome would be,and all this would be trial and error.Nowwww, there is cement stain, and as you know wood stain, but again i myself don't know the end result.
