I used HD grout sealer that supposidly lasts 2 years before application. It lasted 8 months. :bonk: My grout was originally a light brown, more of a light tan, and it is now a dark brown. I found that KlenzAll stuff, but nothing was specifically for grout.

How do i clean my grout? Water and vinegar? Oxygen Bleach found here (http://www.askthebuilder.com/531_How_to_Clean_Grout.shtml) Get on the hands and knees and scrub?

I could really use a DIY! Thanks!

Also, when i finally get it clean, how can i seal it PROPERLY. All my hard earned work is going to waste.

After I seal it, how do i take care of it? I was just vacuuming and mopping it once a week, usually with floor cleaner (mr clean), sometimes with just water.

Thanks for the help!

Okay, understand that a sealer doesn't keep grout from getting dirty, just keeps it from absorbing stains, you still need to clean it with a neutral tile and grout cleaner regularly, but not overly, and use a grout brush, and a wetvac, or change your rinse water frequently.I like most major sealer brands,Aquamix, Stonetech, and such, just follow the directions on the bottle...http://www.daltileproducts.com/careandmaint.cfm?cms=3

No :D Any cleaner that says neutral cleaner, and when it gets too dirty get a high alkaline cleaner, like Aquamix,Stonetech, and such.

I agree with Davestone, it is important for people to understand that sealers do not stop grout from getting dirty. It helps to slow down the process, but grout is still rough and catches dirt and holds it.

As for cleaning, I recommend a professional of course, but in a DIY situation you can use Klenzall with a steam machine and shop vac. There are many inexpensive steam/vapor machines out there, and can be used for many other purposes. Put your chems on, steam, rinse, suck. If you cannot get your hands on a steam/vapor machine then scrub with a grout brush on hands and knees, flush and suck. Good luck. Oh, and PLEASE pass on the word that there is no "magical" chemical out there that will just make the dirt disappear! If you want your grout clean you either have the right high powered equipment or a lot of elbow grease, with the right chemical. Choose your weapon.
