Problem here. I cleaned and sealed my slate floor. After applying the first coat of gloss sealer/finish I have a heavy haze on the floor. Why is this and what do I do about it? Do I need to strip the floor and start over? Help me please!

Hi psyfly, Welcome! :)
What kind of slate do you have?
How long did you allow the floor to dry before applying the surface coating?
It sounds like moisture is under the coating.

Thanks for the info. I think It may be moisture causing the problem. I don't know what kind of slate. It's a new house to me but only 2 years old. do I need to strip it and if so will I need to reseal? Thanks

Can you give us a name? You may also have cleaning residue in the mix, but like John says it is probably moisture, and yes i doubt it will dry out and become clear, although you might try using some of the same sealer on a few tiles to see if they clear up, if not check the sealer bottle for stripping instructions, and if it needs an acidic or heay alkaline stripper you may need to check your ph of the stone before resealing...after letting it dry a few days if needed.

The products I've been using are from tilelab. I'll follow the directions to remove the gloss sealer finish with cleaner/stripper then redo.
