It's very informative reading these posts. Thanks for everyone for sharing their knowledge!
I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to save my grout. Here's what happened:
Our new home has a lot of travertine - floors and bathrooms. It appears that the idiot who applied the sealant literally dumped it on the floor and sloshed everything around with a mop. Our builders have spent thousands buffing and stripping all the shiny permanent puddles all over the floor, repainting the floorboards that got splashed, and cleaning our appliances.
To add insult to injury, the sealant was applied over a newly constructed filthy floor - they didn't clean first - so all that fine gray construction dust got sealed into our travertine and grout.
The travertine is getting to where I can live with it, but the brown grout has lots of grey imbedded in it, and the strippers havent' been able to get it up. Is there anything I can do to make my grout look nice again, or do I need to dig it all up and replace it?
Thanks for any ideas!
