I'll go one further. I've been staying at the Sheraton Suites and the Renaissance they mentioned for the last 15 years or so. Ouch.

I just spent the last few days in hotels and I can completely believe this story. My family stayed at a Sheraton "Four Points" hotel in Emeryville, California for a couple days while my wife handled some of her business and I personally witnessed some suspicious goings-on. I drank from a water glass and thought I tasted something like Windex and had a sour stomach for a few hours after. The first night we were there, the toilet overflowed after flushing some formula from a bottle and the valve was stuck open. The end result was the entire carpet was soaked, with our luggage on top of the beds. They moved us to another room while the maintenance guy vacuumed the water up and set up a blower to move the air around. There is no doubt in my mind that that room was rented the next night without having the carpets cleaned.
I've always known to throw the comforter off of the bed, but now I know not to drink the water either.
Ick!,

Don't forget about the bedbugs too. Anytime you travel and stay at a hotel/ motel you're taking a chance with your health. As eccentric as it may have seemed these past few years whenever I traveled I have been bringing my own supplies. I'm not that crazy after all. :shake:

Unfortunately I can't bring my own dishes there. Stay away from chain restaurants. You have a better chance when you eat at a restaurant operated by your neighbors where you get to know the owners.

And of course you can never be sure if the food you buy at the supermarket is safe. Maybe there's E-Coli lurking in your next bag of vegetables.

That was disgusting. I guess working at a Holiday Inn Express doesn't make the employees smarter....

I won't complain about being given cheap disposal glasses at an expensive hotel anymore.

I travel for work constantly. I'm in a Holiday Inn Express this week in fact. I usually take my travel cup with me just out of habit.

Hmmmmmmm! Always wondered why the in-room coffee tasted a little strange sometimes.

Always thought it was cheap coffee. :uhh: :crap:
