I recently had my 8 year old limestone bathroom floor cleaned and resealed by a professional. Before the cleaning the floor had many black stains on it. The day of the cleaning it looked great. The very next day some of the black stains were visible again, although much lighter. The cleaning did help, but when the floor was completely dried I could see some of these stains just didn't come out. I can live with the floor the way it is, but I do believe it will just get worse. How do I maintain this floor. The professional said to just clean it with water. I don't see how that could keep it clean. I'm wondering if there is a better sealer that could be applied. Although he sealed the floor I can't see it. How is the sealer supposed to protect the floor? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Catherine,

Stone porosity dependent you may need a second application of a sealant.

There are also impregnators (sealants) which perform superior as compared to others.

What was the name of the impregnator used ?

What is the name of your Limestone ?
