I have recently installed 12 x 12 inch ceramic tiles on a 20 square foot section of floor where a wood stove will sit. I grouted the tile with a coloured, sanded, polymer modified grout which dried a much pinker shade than the colour shown on the box (mid brown). The grout has been in for about 24 hours now and I have not sealed it yet. Is there any way to dye or otherwise colour grout to get it to match the tiles a little better?

Hi Watson, welcome to our board.

You can use a "grout colorant." Aquamix and other companies make them. They come in all the colors grout comes in. I've posted a short article about it in another area of this site.

I would wait a few more days to make sure the grout is completly dry. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks very much John. I had phoned a couple of tile retailers before I posted and they had never heard of grout colourants. I'm in western Canada so I will see if I can find a local supplier for Aquamix.

Mike,

We have a member out of Vancouver, B.C. (presently in Arizona on a project). He may know of a company. His name is Steven. gskiazyk@home.com

Are you in one of those wild and wooly provinces? I passed through Calgary a summer ago on my way to Vancouver.
